Somberly, the late afternoon sun grazes the horizon before dipping below it, streaming through the bare tree branches to give one last flash of splendor before nightfall. The sharp, clean smell of snow is in the air, though not a single flake has fallen today. Clouds thicken. Silence & static are hushed by the draft that whistles and winds through the empty boughs. As daylight savings waves her dark cloak over the meadow, the moon rises full, & silver silence envelops the reserve.
