The Special Topics in Design article inspired this design that uses one strand of mohair/silk and two strands of gold metallic thread held together. I thought a sparkly top would be fun for the holidays, and since I’ve done sparkly holiday tops before, I added Redux to the pattern name.

This top incorporates several design elements I have used in previous designs. I frequently place buttons in the back rather than in the front, and I also like convex hems shaped by short rows. This sleeveless design includes both. (By the way, the back neckline is not so low that you can’t wear it with the buttons in front.)

The bottom edge is two row repeats of a mock cable stitch pattern. This stitch pattern is also used for the buttonhole band, worked the same time as the Right Back. The yarn overs in the stitch pattern make tidy, neat buttonholes.
