This pattern was part of installment two of the Vintage Purls Winter Sock Club 2011.

The muse for this pattern is a little different to my normal yarny inspirations, a building no less, here in Dunedin at Otago University. That building is now called the Richardson building but in my University days it was the Hocken building. It is principally a utilitarian concrete slab construction except that its cladding is highly corrugated and that design feature has always impressed me.
