Hjalte was originally made for Knitter’s magazine, way back when, but I decided that it deserved a longer life. Here is a slightly modified version.
The large Viking Cable panels are dramatic but I’ve balanced them with plain sleeves and cable details at the cuffs and neck. I chose to knit it with a mock turtleneck collar, but you could easily make it a crew neck instead.
Because the cable pattern is so big, the sweater is only sized for the larger sizes.
