When I was designing my Kaoru mitts, I stuck the finished mitt on my baby’s leg as a joke. Whelp! After I saw that, I knew I’d be designing matching legwarmers! And here we are!

Hitachiin are super stretchy due to the ribbing, and will be more able to accommodate the large variance in leg widths that a baby’s leg is. The cables are actually quite calming, once you get into the rhythm of them.

As an added bonus, I was able to get a full pair of Kaoru Mitts and Hitachiin Legwarmers out of a single skein of The Perwinkle Sheep’s Merino DK! (I worked the S/M sized mitt and size 2 of the legwarmer. The model is 6mo old in these photos. There was just a small ball of yarn leftover after working both, so to be sure to have enough for both, please purchase two skeins. A slight difference in gauge may cause yardage usage to be different, even in the same sizes.)
