Hirta Shawl
Carol Meldrum’s stunning shawl is knitted in garter stitch, and is formed from a series of short-row wedges. “Each panel uses one colour as the background for three short row-shaped wedges, changing the contrast colour in each wedge,” explains Carol. “In the next panel, a new colour becomes the background and three more wedges are worked with the other colours.
This creates a kaleidoscope of colour across the shawl, as each wedge highlights the shades differently.”
