Portland has a reputation for being filled with “Tree huggers,” and understandably so. We love to hike - especially among the trees! One of the best and most convenient places to enjoy hiking is in the aptly named Forest Park. At 5,000 acres it is the largest natural Urban Forest Reserve in the U.S.! Forest Park is filled with more than 70 miles of walking and hiking trails, which feels like you’re alone in a jungle paradise - rather than blocks away from a freshly steamed latte. The Forest Park Conservancy website offers maps and tips, including directions to the park by public transportation.
