High Tide
A knee length open front vest.
This knee length vest accents length with its deep V-neckline, sloping front hemline, wide front band and vertical lines on the back that narrow at the waist. Leave it open or close it with a shawl pin. It is easy and quick to knit.
Techniques: Increasing, decreasing, short rows, picking up stitches, knitting in the round, & straight seaming.
Included in the pattern are photos, a complete list of abbreviations, a stitch glossary and schematic.
Skill level: Intermediate.

Gauge: 16 sts and 22 rows = 4in/10cm in
stockinette stitch pattern
The gauge recommended on the label is 22 sts=4in/10cm, this is knit at a looser gauge
Pattern notes: Knit from the bottom up, this vest is knit in three pieces, seamed for extra stability. The front hem is curved and shaped with short rows. The back has a simple, vertical stripe design. The front border is picked up and knit in garter stitch. The armholes are finished by picking up stitches, knitting one round and then binding off. I suggest making the vest knee length in the back, adjust the pattern accordingly.
