Hidden Flowers
Nature is beautiful in all its parts, but sometimes when looking at the majesty of a redwood forest or the vastness of the ocean it is easy to miss smaller details. The rest of my family love spending time hiking and doing other outdoors-y things when we go on vacation, so I often spend an hour or two sitting and knitting under a tree waiting for them to return. One of my favorite things about these times is the chance to examine everything around me, and to notice what might otherwise be overlooked--the bees that particularly like this tree but ignore that one, how prettily the colors of the pebbles look together, and the small flowers hidden in the grass.
This classically constructed, pieced sweater celebrates those hidden flowers with a column of lace along each of the fronts, making an otherwise simple sweater a little more interesting to knit. The stockinette arms and back are perfect to take along when you are spending a day out and about with family or friends, and might have a moment to sit and enjoy the simple beauty of your surroundings.
