Hickory Shawl
MATERIALS
- 3 skeins of Purl Soho’s Plein Air, 67% merino wool and 33% organically grown cotton. Each skein of this light worsted/DK-weight yarn is 218 yards/ 100 grams; approximately 654 total yards required. We used the color Elk Brown.
- US 6 (4 mm), 24-inch circular knitting needles
- A stitch marker
NOTE: We used every last yard for our shawl! To avoid running short, be sure to check your gauge, reuse your swatch yarn, and keep tails short. Or, consider ordering an extra skein just to be sure. If you don’t end up needing it, you can return unwound yarn for a refund within 30 days of purchase, or within 6 months, for store credit. Our Return Policy has all the details!
GAUGE
19½ stitches and 31½ rows = 4 inches in Diagonal Chevron Zig Zag Increase Pattern
NOTE: For gauge swatching, we recommend following Section A of the pattern for several inches, then putting your stitches on scrap yarn or stitch holders to block and measure the piece (don’t cut the yarn to avoid extra ends to weave in).
