It is a lot of fun to see how the colors work in to the design as this scarf is knit. Scarf is worked modularly in garter stitch blocks. One length is worked first. Then second length is joined to first length as it is worked. There are no seams and only 4 tails to weave in.

The basis of the design was inspired by Barbara Walker’s discussion of knitting an “Illusion Cube” (a garter stitch block with 60 degree bias shaping) in A Fourth Treasury of Knitting Patterns, pages 19-21.

Any fingering weight yarn with long color repeats would work well for this scarf.
