Hettie the Hedgehog is a cuddly and versatile toy, cushion, footrest or companion. The overall size is approx. 40cm wide by 25cm tall (16”x10”).

The piece is knitted flat and the quills are short lengths of yarn looped through garter st ‘bumps’ using a crochet hook. It is stuffed with toy stuffing or cushion filler.

Note: Crochet hook - exact hook size is not important. Needle size - choose 7mm or 8mm (whichever is appropriate) to obtain your gauge, because bulky weight yarns can vary.

3 x 100g of bulky weight yarn is an adequate amount to make this piece. However, if you want a shaggier hedgehog (longer quills), a thicker hedgehog (extra mass of quills), or a multicoloured hedgehog, then add more yarn as you desire!
