Inspired by the desire on cool days, especially in the evenings, for a garment with the relaxing feel of a cosy blanket or shawl but with a slightly more formal and glamorous appearance.

This is a lightweight garment that’s eye-catching and easy to throw on when you need a little extra warmth. The design is incredibly flexible, allowing each side to be fastened in multiple ways or left loose while the other side can either match or do its own thing! In this way it can be styled in many, many ways to suit the wearer’s style, figure shape and outfit. The mouldable nature of the lace stitch creates the illusion of a custom fitted garment without needing to make any adjustments to your figure shape.

The easy, meditative feel of the stitch and simple block shaping make this a good first garment project to crochet. It’s also really simple to seam together neatly and the stitch naturally creates an attractive chevron edge.

Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5)(6, 7, 8, 9, 10), designed with 0 cm / 0” ease; fronts can be draped for your desired fit.

Tension: 11 sts x 9 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm / 4” x 4” measured over main pattern stitch, using 5 mm hook, after blocking.
Working method: pieces are crocheted flat, bottom to top except sleeves, then seamed to form the garment.
