Somebody has eaten all the red herrings, leaving behind only their bones and an arsenal of cutlery. The culprit must still be somewhere around… can you figure out whodunnit?

The sock is worked cuff-down, with a herringbone stitch heel flap (of course!). Only one size is provided: Medium, with 72 stitches per round, which will fit feet with a circumference of about 9”.

This is a stranded colourwork sock with minimal long floats (only one float per fish is longer than 5 stitches). The cat face, however, requires catching floats in several places, and so I have written an optional mini-tutorial on how I use the ladder-back jacquard (LBJ) technique for float management. If you have always wanted to try LBJ, this is an excellent opportunity to try it out on a small area. If you don’t feel like it, you can always catch floats the regular way.

Instructions are written, and the colourwork patterns are charted. You may use any technique/needles you prefer for knitting a tube in the round, although I recommend that you flip the tube inside-out for the colourwork portions.
