Herbie the Basset Hound
Herbie the Bassett Hound joins the Dera Dogs knitting pattern range, and is a fun knit for any dog lover. The colour pattern on Herbie is achieved using the intarsia technique.
This pattern has been designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz using acrylic DK yarns, and is knitted flat on single pointed needles.
RECOMMENDED YARN
Deramores Studio Anti-Pilling DK in Gingerbread, Chocolate, Ebony and Frost; one 100g skein in each colour
Double knitting/light worsted weight
100% acrylic
NEEDLES
A pair of 3.75mm (US 5) straight single pointed knitting needles
NOTIONS
Toy filling
A darning or tapestry needle for seaming
Two 12mm toy safety eyes
For the collar, you will need a few metres of a blue DK acrylic yarn
SIZES
One Size: Herbie is 27cm long x 16cm tall (approx 10½“ long x 6¼” tall).
TECHNIQUES
Work flat on single pointed needles (not in the round).
Other techniques include casting on and off, knits and purls, increases and decreases, intarsia colour-work, and seaming to finish.
