This first pattern I designed for the ‘Summer of Socks 2024’ is the simplest one and is all about the heel. It’s perfect for colorful yarns that shine best in a simple pattern. I once saw this heel in an old photo and had to figure out how it was knit on my own (I do love a challenge!). This heel might already exist, but I haven’t found it yet, and unfortunately, I don’t know its name. That’s why the pattern is simply called ‘Heel No.1’. This heel is characterized by its simplicity, as you knit the heel flap and gusset together, and only then do you knit the small heel. Personally, I find it a very pleasant way to knit, and I hope you’ll be eager to try out this heel too!

Dit eerste patroon dat ik ontwierp voor de ‘Summer of Socks 2024’ is het meest eenvoudige en draait volledig om de hiel. Het is heel erg geschikt voor kleurrijke garens die het beste uitkomen in een eenvoudig patroon. Deze hiel zag ik ooit op een oude foto en ik heb zelf moeten uitzoeken hoe deze gebreid werd (ik hou wel van een uitdaging!). Deze hiel zal vast al voorkomen maar ik heb hem nog niet gevonden en ik weet dus helaas ook niet hoe hij heet. Daarom is de naam van het patroon simpelweg ‘Heel nr.1’ . Deze hiel kenmerkt zich door de eenvoud, je breit namelijk de hielflap en de spie tezamen en daarna pas de kleine hak. Ik persoonlijk vind het een hele, prettige manier van breien en ik hoop dat jullie deze hiel ook zeker willen uitproberen!
