Heaven & Heather Cardigan
Pattern Description from Cast On, May-July 2009: “Slip stitch patterns allow for a lot of color in the finished design while only using one yarn at a time when knitting. Part of the fun of making a sweater such as this is to experiment with different combinations. If more color is desired, try using a variegated yarn. This pattern also includes instructions for a woman’s cardigan.”

Designer Note: Sizes are given from the smallest to the largest. Children’s sizes are first followed by the adult sizes, separated by a slash (/). If only one number is given, it applies to all sizes. When working Slip Stitch Pattern, slip stitches as if to purl. To slip a stitch, you move it from the left needle to the right needle without working it. When slipping purlwise, the stitch remains untwisted, but when slipped knitwise, it will twist, which is desired when working decreases. If a pattern does not instruct you which way to slip the stitch, slip it purlwise unless working a decrease. Always look at your knitting while working, because corrections are easiest when made early.
