Hearts & Cables Beanie
For a few weeks I had the itch to make a fun hat. The idea was that it would have some cable
work and little hearts. After some messing around, I finally figured it out! I hope you enjoy this
hat!
What you need:
● I (5.5mm) and J (6.0mm) hooks
● 200 yards of Worsted Weight Yarn. I used I Love This Yarn in Pink for the
example. Any worsted weight yarn would work.
● Scissors
● Tapestery Needle
● Faux fur pompom (optional)
Stitches to know:
● hdc - half double crochet
● dc - double crochet
● In the third loop - working a stitch in the third loop of a hdc
● cps - cluster puff stitch. To do a cluster puff stitch yarn over, insert hook into designated
stitch or space, and pull up a loop yarn over, insert hook into same stitch and pull up a
loop yarn over, insert hook into same stitch and pull up a loop yarn over, insert hook into
the next stitch and pull up a loop insert hook into same stitch and pull up a loop yarn
over, insert hook into same stitch and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through all the
loops. Chain 1
● fptrc - front post treble crochet
● bpdc - back post double crochet
● fpdc - front post double crochet
● ch - chain
● sl st - slip stitch
● inv join - invisible join. When indicated, use the invisible join. When you finish your last
stitch, remove your hook. Insert your hook from the back to the front of the stitch you are
joining. Pick up the loop from the last stitch you made and pull it through to the back.
Chain and continue the next round.
