How to crochet an easy scarf pattern worked in a simple half double crochet stitch pattern embellished with Sashay Boutique yarn. Four sizes included.
I had so much fun working with the sashay yarn for this scarf, and I think it adds such a beautiful finishing touch. Shame this yarn has been discontinued! If you don’t have any in your stash, you can check on eBay or Etsy for makers destashing it, or Overstock.com.
Materials:
- 137 (260, 388, 567) Yards of Worsted Weight Yarn (I used Lion Brand Wool Ease in Natural Heather)
- Small Amount of Red Heart Boutique Ribbons Yarn
- H8/5mm Crochet Hook
- Tapestry Needle
- Small Crochet Hook (like a 2mm) with large mouth to weave in Sashay ends
Material Notes:
Yarn Alternatives for Wool Ease: WeCrochet Swish; Non-Wool: WeCrochet Brava, Lion Brand Heartland
Yarn Alternatives for Boutique Ribbons: Red Heart Sashay, Ascot, Chateau, Filigree, or Sassy Lace, or Hobby Lobby’s version of these.
I made two adult small scarves with one skein of Red Heart Boutique Ribbons, and had plenty left over to make more scarves, but I did not get yardage required. I’m estimating I may have used 14 yards for the adult small size, but I’m confident you could get at least 3 scarves done with one skein.
Time Spent:
For the adult small size, I had my scarf ready in about 5 hours.
Sizes:
Toddler, Child, Teen/Adult Small and Adult Large
Gauge - Not Essential:
In Wool Ease, 16 HDC x 11 Rows = 4” x 3.75”
Abbreviations (US Terms):
- HDC - Half Double Crochet
- SC - Single Crochet
