Hatsuhana means “The flowers that bloom first in their own season” in Japanese.
And the first cherry blossoms that bloom in spring are also called so.

This pattern is worked in the round and seamlessly from top-down.
First, few cable stitches and some short rows create the neck and shoulder line.
And then devide the body into front and back and work back and forth to create the armhole openings.
After that, front and back are joined at the underarms and worked in the round again for the body with stockinette st, some colorwork, and broken rib.
Sleeve sts are picked up from the armhole and work in the round, top-down to the cuffs.
You can choose between a sleeveless and a long sleeves version.

The mods of sweater version:
Needles: 6.0 mm & 5.0 (or 5.1) mm, Gauge: 16 sts x 24 rows,
Yarn: de rerum natura Ulysse,
Knit 7 rounds instead of 10 rounds about St st part of Section 6. (decreased 3 rounds x 3 times.)
After Section 6, skip to Section 10. At Section 10, use only CC2.

このパターンはとじはぎ無しでトップダウンに編み進めます.
最初に, 輪にして縄編みとドイツ式引き返し編みを使って首と肩のラインを形成します.
その後, 身頃を前後に分けてアームホールを作り,
