Harvest Leaf Bag
Ahhh… autumn. My favorite time of year with cooler temperatures, pumpkins, apple-picking, and digging out comfy knits to wear. While you can’t wear this project, it’s a great way to show your love of the season even when it’s too warm for heavy sweaters.
The Harvest Leaf Bag is a large tote bag made with soft merino wool. The yarn is held double-stranded, which means you could also try this with bulky or super-bulky yarn instead. If you use 100% wool, the bag could easily be felted to make it slightly smaller and more sturdy, or left as a simple beautiful carry-all.
The bottom is knit flat and then stitches are picked up along the edges to knit the rest of the bag in the round. That means NO SEAMS!
The bag has a small amount of stranded knitting – great for a beginner. The leaf motifs are created using the Duplicate Stitch.
