Harlow
Wrap it round + round, Harlow by Sarah Shepherd is a dramatic lace + cable scarf made for year round wear. This scarf is made from end-to-end using a tubular cast on + bind off for symmetry. Written for both Forge and Weld (shown), this meditative lace and cable pattern can make for either a luxuriously-sized wrap or a delicate, lighter scarf.
Finished Size 
Weld Version (shown): 13.75” / 35 cm wide, 78” / 195 cm long; Forge Version: 24” / 60 cm, 78” / 195 cm.
Yarn 
Hudson + West Co. Weld (70% U.S. Merino / 30% U.S. Corriedale; 200 yds 183 m; 1.76 oz 50 g): lake (light heathered blue grey), 7 skeins.

Hudson + West Co. Forge (70% U.S. Merino / 30% U.S. Corriedale; 235 yds 215 m; 3.5 oz 100 g): lake (light heathered blue grey), 8 skeins.
Needles 
Weld Version: 
Size A (for body): US 4 3.5 mm: straight or circular needles. 
Size B (for ribbing): US 3 3.25 mm: straight or circular needles. 
Size C (for tubular cast on): US 2 2.75 mm: straight or circular needles. 
Or 
Forge Version: 
Size A (for body): US 7 4.5 mm: straight or circular needles. 
Size B (for ribbing): US 6 4.0 mm: straight or circular needles. 
Size C (for tubular cast on): US 5 3.75 mm: straight or circular needles. 
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions 
Tapestry needle; cable needle; stitch markers; waste yarn (optional) for tubular cast on.
Gauge 
31 sts + 36 rows = 4” / 10 cm in cable and lace patt, as charted, in Weld, on Size A needles, after blocking. 
Chart A cable lace rep measures approx 4.5” / 11.5 cm wide in Weld.
