The Harlequin Haze sweater by Sylvia Watts-Cherry is an oversized, modified dropped-shoulder design featuring intarsia argyle diamond colourwork on the front and sleeves. The bold geometric motifs create a modern look while keeping the intarsia charts approachable. The sweater is worked flat in pieces from the ribbed hem upwards, with the neckband picked up and finished in the round.

The design is inspired by the triangle motifs of the designer’s Akwa Miri sweater from Laine 10, here reimagined into classic argyle diamonds. These shapes reflect a connection to both Scotland and the designer’s African heritage, where geometric diamond patterns are widely found.
