Harebell is a top-down shawl originally featured as Jen’s November 2014 Mystery Shawl. Three different lace patterns are used and transition into one another beautifully. This shawl can be worked in either a lace weight or fingering weight yarn and the finished size can be easily customized.

Pattern Notes
Want to make your shawl bigger? There’s a variety of ways to do it. Repeat charts A & B together as many times as you like, ending with chart B. You can also repeat chart C as many times as you like. Chart D can be repeated too! If you add extra repeats of chart D, be sure to end on row 3 or 9 before binding off on the wrong side. Remember, adding additional repeats will affect the amount of yarn you need to complete your shawl!

For chart B, if you are using stitch markers to mark each 8-stitch repeat, you will need to shift the stitch markers on rows 3 & 9.

On rows 1 & 5 of chart C the first ssk and last k2tog of the row you will be using one of the “edge yarnovers” from the previous wrong side row. It may seem a little awkward, but don’t worry – just work the same way you normally would!

Gauge: 22 sts & 36 rows = 4” in St st (unblocked)

Gauge is not critical in this pattern, but a different gauge will affect yardage and size of shawl.

• 750 yards of lace weight or fingering weight yarn

• US Size 3 (3.25mm), 24” circular needle or longer for lace weight

• US Size 5 (3.75mm), 24” circular needle or longer for fingering weight

• Tapestry needle

• Blocking supplies
