This hard hat and mining set will make play time and Halloween explosive! The mining helmet with light will help the kids make their way through tunnels and mines so they can see where their going and where to place the dynamite.

Caution: once you make one stick of dynamite, your kids will ask for more!

Are you prepared to make a big stash of dynamite? If so, you’ll want to make the blasting box for a really Big Bang and the wood crate to store the dynamite between jobs.

Hard Hat
The hard hat is crocheted in the round with super bulky yarn to give it durability and stiffness.

The helmet has an adjustable strap with button inside making it One-Size-Fits-All* from baby to adult women. For newborns and babies, crochet in baby weight yarn.

Dynamite
The dynamite is also crocheted in the round. You can make them as long as you like (8” is standard). We have instructions for creating a wick to “light” individual sticks or a long wire and blasting cap which is used with a detonator box.

Detonator Box
For really big blasts, you want to be as far away as possible. So, use a long wire and blasting box to get the job done.

The detonator box has a handle that really moves up and down like a real blasting box. There’s a strap for carrying the box to the job site. As well as two wing nuts (that really twist) for attaching the “copper” wire.

The pattern uses a wavy stitch to create a wood grain feel. You’ll crochet cozies for cardboard to create the box shape. Crochet around a wood dowel and chopstick to create the handle.

Wood Dynamite Crate
The wood crate will store your dynamite between jobs and make it easier to carry a large amount of explosives to your next job.

The crate is crocheted with two shades of beige to give it a real wood grain look. Crochet cozies for cardboard to create the box shape. A couple of hinges and lettering will finish off the authentic look of the dynamite crate.
