Hampton Soft Chunky Backpack
This backpack is made using just two contrasting colours to make a crisp effect, and blue and white are perfect in combination. It is worked from the base up in dc (UK terms): the base in ordinary dc and the sides in back loop dc.
The straps are worked separately. They are sewn to the lower part of the bag, and are attached to the top of the bag with buttons - each strap has two buttonholes to make the length adjustable. Six 28mm buttons are required for this project. (Note: the pattern only instructs how to attach four buttons to the bag - the extra two buttons are sewn below the top two buttons at the same distance apart as the buttonholes on the straps, to fasten through all four buttonholes of the straps when they are used in the short mode).
The bag is worked on a smaller hook than is generally recommended for the yarn to help hide the carried yarn and to ensure a durable result.
