Hampton jacket
The great thing about cropped jackets is they can be worn over loose dress, which can then be worn over leggings - very warm - and stylish! (see photos)
Hampton jacket is a variation on my asymetric Hampton Hill pattern (The Knitter magazine 2023) - this time I have given it a central opening, and have re-shaped the neck to give a cosy collar that can be worn open or buttoned up.
The pattern is available in bust sizes 85.75 (95.25: 103.75: 113.25: 122.75: 132.5: 142: 151.5) cm/33 ¾ (37 ½: 40 ¾: 44 ½: 48 ¼: 52 ¼: 56: 59 ¾) in
The length from hem to neck is 35 (36: 36.5: 39: 39: 44: 44: 45.5) cm/13 ¾ (14 ¼:14 ¼: 15 ¼: 15 ¼: 17 ¼: 17 ¼: 18) in
Once again I have used one of my favourite stitches - a simple horizontal rib - which can be blocked to adjust the length, and gives an interesting texture to the garment.
The jacket is knitted using
West Yorkshire Spinners Fleece DK weight (100% British wool; 225m/246yd per 100g hank)
Shade: Berry (1036); 5 (5: 6: 7: 7: 8: 9: 9) x 100g hanks
I have also designed a matching Hampton beanie and mitts, which could be made to use up any leftover yarn!
