Inspiration
Grellow Weather is inspired by the change in seasons. After enjoying the warmth of the summer, the yellow leaves begin to mark the transition into cooler weather. For me, this is the time after t-shirt weather, but before we enjoy pumpkin-spice-everything and more serious sweater weather.

Difficulty
Intermediate.

Materials
• Yarn: Four colours, of heavier sport weight to light DK yarn. Three of these colours make the background grey colours, and you will need about 50g of each. The fourth colour is the contrast colour, and you will need about 20g.
• Main Colours (shown here in greys): Colour A, B, C – 50g (119m/131yd)
• Contrast Colour (shown here in yellow): Colour D – 20 g (68m/74yd)
• There are many yarns that will work here. I went to my stash, and I used Juniper Moon Farm Findley DK (50g/1.76oz; 119m/131yd; 50% merino wool, 50% mulberry silk) for the three grey tones, and some SweetGeorgia Tough Love Sock (115g/4.06oz; 389m/425yd; 80% merino wool, 20% nylon) for the contrast colour (Colour D).
• 4.5mm (US 7) needles (or needles that will match your yarn choice)
• Stitch markers (2)
• Tapestry needle

Sizing
The cowl measures 108cm (42.5 inches) in circumference, and 21cm (8.25 inches) in height. One size fits most.

Tension
18 sts and 32 rows = 10cm/4in over lace pattern

Pattern Notes
The lace pattern in this cowl is a 16 stitches + 1 stitch repeat over 16 rows, and is bordered by 4 stitches of garter stitch. To change the width of the scarf, adjust the number of cast-on stitches by multiples of 16. The length of the scarf can be adjusted by working fewer or more repeats. Instructions for lace are written out, as well as charted.
