Green With Envy Shawlette
About the Pattern
Named after Joma Yarn’s beautiful “Green With Envy” colourway, this shawlette is simple, but definitely not plain. Instructions are provided for symmetrical and asymmetrical versions, both of which require just one skein of fingering weight yarn. This is a great pattern for beginners ready to up their knitting game, or for more seasoned knitters wanting a relaxing, easy-to-memorize project.
Pattern has been test-knit and tech-edited.

Tapestry needle, stitch marker, approx. 75 size 8 glass beads if using and a small gauge crochet hook (I used a 0.6 mm crochet hook) to place beads.
Skill Level
Easy. Skills used include basic increases and decreases, yarnovers, and working a picot edge. Placing beads is optional. Links to helpful videos are provided.
Pattern Notes
Both the symmetrical and asymmetrical versions are knit sideways, from end-to-end, in garter stitch. The shawlette gets its shape from regularly spaced increases and then decreases. The bottom edge is embellished with regularly spaced picots and optional beads. Links to helpful videos are provided in the pattern.
Errata
Row 10 of the decrease section of asymmetrical version should read: “knit to last 2 sts, yf, sl2p.” The most recent version of the pattern has been updated to reflect these corrections.
