The Native Americans of the West were wonderful artists: their designs inspired this beautiful bag.
For the skilled knitter.
Materials:
4 8 oz/227g hanks (each approximately 500 yards/457m) of Lorna’s Laces Fisherman (100%) wool
1 hank each of #38 mixed berries (MC), #6ns douglas fir (A), #Ons natural B #45 cranberry (X), #41ns china blue(D), #2ns manzanita (E), #24 ns navy (F), #8ns harvest (G), #20ns pine (H) and #23 ns berry (I)
One pair each in sizes 6 and 8 (4 and 5mm) needles or size to obtain gauge
Bobbins
12 yards/1.85m fabric for lining
Sewing needle and matching thread
16” wide x 3 1/2” long/40.5 x 9cm cardboard (for base)
Muench purse handles (these are “Urban Cowboy” handles.) Available at yarniverse.com
Finished Measurements: 23” wide x 25” long/58.5 x 63.5cm, before felting
20 x wide x 19 1/2 long x 49.5cm, after felting
Gauge: 18 sts and 23 rows to 4”/10cm in St st and colorwork using larger needles (before felting)
