I am smitten with grey – utterly and completely in love with it. Grey is timeless and it goes with practically everything. Grays Harbor is my homage to my favorite neutral and a nod to houndstooth, using a strategic series of slipped stitches that create a delicious overall texture and pattern (without following a color chart).

If neutral greys aren’t your cup of tea, Grays Harbor is just as lovely with a pop of color. For best results stay with the contrast of light/medium/dark tones, and use at least one neutral (using a neutral for the lightest color always seems to work well).

This design is super flexible - you can make it narrower, shorter, longer, whatever you like! Knit until you run out of yarn, get creative with color, have fun!

One size (13” wide x 70” long prior to blocking) – blocking will add length. Remember: yarn substitutions may provide different results. Knit with Brooklyn Tweed Loft this generous scarf is light and airy, but incredibly warm.

Unisex (Hipster approved: I asked my 21 year old son to stop by to model this scarf for me just as it was beginning to snow, and after wearing it for a few minutes he decided it should go home with him.)

• 450 yards Color B (Light)
• 275 yards Color C (Dark)
• Brooklyn Tweed Loft (275 yards in 50g, fingering weight, woolen spun 100% Targhee/Columbia wool)
• US Size 7/4.5mm (24”) circular (or straight) needles
• Darning needle to weave in ends

Gauge: Approximately 25½ st over 4” in pattern (gauge is not essential)
