(This pattern was initially published under the working title Squish Helmet.)

A simple hat in garter stitch and ribbing, knitted bottom-up in the round. The garter panels give this hat incredible squish and generous stretch, making it one of my most comfortable and versatile hats.

One size fits most. Finished hat is 9 in/23 cm tall, with circumference about 20 in/51 cm, stretches to fit heads up to about 24 in/61 cm.

Any worsted weight yarn may be used. Some Aran and heavier DK weights may also be suitable.

Only one needle size is used. The ribbing uses a twisted stitch for tightness, instead of a smaller needle size.

This hat is beginner-friendly, a quick knit, and a simple one-skein project.
