Granny square for beginners
This is a pattern and chart for a granny square intended for beginner crocheters.
It uses special techniques such as the magic ring to start, standing trebles to start new rounds and how to use the finishing tail to get an “invisible finish”.
The pattern and chart comes in a version for both left and right-handers and there is an embedded video series showing how to make it from start-to-finish to accompany the written pattern and chart.
The video series is also on youtube if you prefer to watch it there, but you will still need the written chart/pattern.
You can use any size hook and yarn you like and you will get different-sized granny squares depending on your choices.
The example shown used a 4mm crochet hook, double knitting plain wool yarn and the three-round square measures 9cm x 9cm (3.5 inches x 3.5 inches).
