Granny Loves Popcorn Cowl
The Cowl is made up of granny squares with popcorn stitches used to add texture. Four squares make up the cowl. The squares are 8 rounds changing colour every two rounds. Each square is joined using the join as you go method on the final round.
The total amount of yarn used is 277m.
The total amount of yarn used per square is 21g/62m
The photographs show two versions of the cowl. In the first version the colours used in the Cowl are Gold, Teal, Storm Blue, Sage and Cream by Stylecraft Special DK. In version 2 the colours are Parma Violet, Pale Rose, Emperor, Raspberry and Grape. Any 8 ply/DK weight yarn can be used as a substitute.
The cowl measures 64cm in circumference. It is 20cm in height. These sizes can be altered by either adding more squares to make the cowl longer/wider. Or you can add or subtract rounds from the initial granny square to alter the height and circumference. Or add a larger border to again add to the height of the cowl.
Gauge of 10cm is approximately 9 rounds of granny stitch. Or 5cm is 4.5 rounds.
