Welcome to the Granite Beanie
A fun and simplistic design that will look great matched with any outfit. This beanie uses knit and purl stitches so is a great beginner pattern but also a great pattern to get through your hordes of yarn you have stashed away!
SIZES:
The pattern includes sizes:
S - 50-53cm/19.5-21”
M - 53-56cm/21-22”
L - 56-59cm/22-23”
XL - 59-62cm/23-24.5”
Rough yarn estimations:
S: 50g/1.8oz 78m/85yds
M: 55g/1.95oz 85m/93yds
L: 70g/2.45oz 109m/119yds
XL: 75g/2.65oz 116m/127yds
The model has a size 59cm (23”) head and is wearing a L sizes beanie.
The pattern requires 5.5mm (US 9) circular needles and 10ply/Heavy Worsted Weight. This yarn borders on a chunky yarn. The pattern was written using Quince and Co Osprey yarn but you can easily substitute this yarn for an alternative.
Please remember that if you can’t source the yarn that is recommended then try to find a yarn with a similar tension gauge. The tension gauge is the most important part when ensuring your completed beanie is the same as what you see in the pictures. The tension for this pattern is 16 sts x 22 rows in stocking stitch with 5.5mm (US 9) needles.
