Grain socks
The Grain socks feature a twisted-stitch
cable pattern running along the leg and
continuing over the foot, adding texture
and definition while remaining suitable
for everyday wear. The surrounding fabric is
worked in smooth Stockinette stitch, allowing the
pattern to stand out clearly.
Worked from the cuff down, the socks begin
with an optional Tubular Cast-On for a neat,
elastic edge. The heel flaps are knitted in a
reinforced stitch pattern for added durability, and
the round French heels provide a comfortable,
balanced fit. Instructions are also included for
adjusting the gusset to achieve a slightly roomier
shape if desired.
The result is a pair of socks that combines detailed
stitch work with practical construction, creating a
design that is both refined and comfortable.
