I made changes to up-size the pattern after tech editing and learned a big lesson -- if you change numbers in a pattern update, get it reviewed again by the tech editor because your own eyes will miss something.

You like symmetry and you like geometrics with their pretty angles and lines. And you love knitting with yarn in flowing colors that shift from one perfect choice to another and back again. Gradient Angles is the pattern for you! Based on mitered square construction with a few twists, this pattern puts the color work magic of gradient yarns at just the right angle!

Gradient Angles is a triangular shawl formed from two mitered triangles. Knit the first one then cast on part of the stitches for the second triangle and pick up the rest along the edge of the first triangle. You’ll zoom through the body of the shawl in no time. Then comes the garter and picot border which is picked up along the lower edges. The picots are formed with a great new technique that allows you to forego the caston/bindoff repetition of most picot edges.

The pattern is written for 700 yards of Helix, but can be modified depending on how much yarn you have. The mitered angles make for some stripey color play when knitting with gradient or long self-striping yarns. Turn the corner on fashion and knit one of your own!
