Gorthleck Blanket
This simple bias square blanket was designed as a wedding present for a very good friend. It needed to be simple and graphic while fitting with the sophisticated neutral theme in her sitting room. I also wanted it to be completely reversible. It is generously sized to keep two people warm on the sofa.
As with all simple projects, attention to detail in the finishing creates a stunning end result, so instructions are given on how to seam the blanket and pick up stitches for the edging.
The sample blanket is 8 by 12 squares, with a border. It is easy to vary either the size of square or weight of yarn, and the options for colour combinations are limitless. You could use as many different colours as you want, or work with a more limited palette of either contrasting or toning shades.
