Goldsmobile Top
The Goldsmobile Top was inspired by a flexible approach to dressing for fall: even the sunniest days are book-ended with cooler mornings and evenings. This cabled top is designed to work equally well over a sleek turtleneck or a well-loved plaid flannel shirt. There is no shaping in the body and the armholes are sized to accommodate layering.
The body is knit flat from the bottom up, beginning with a split hem. Stitches are picked up from the body for the turtleneck and armhole edgings, each of which is worked in the round. A tubular cast-on and cast-off are used for the hem and turtleneck to ensure that both have sufficient stretch.
