This is a set-in sleeve sweater with a simple intarsia panel for the beard and applique hat. The tartan sleeves add a touch of sophistication to this fun knit and they are worked using a stripe sequence with column of purl stitches. Once the sleeve is completed, a crochet hook is used to work a column of stitches into the purl ‘ditch’ row.
