The dramatic fan motif in this cowl celebrates the Merino sheep’s origin. Spain had a monopoly on the breed for close to 600 years, but in the late 1700’s, the jealously guarded breeding stock began to be exported, and we now have more of this wonderful fiber to enjoy.
