Glasshouse Shawl
Inspired by the iconic glasshouses of Kew Gardens, this wrap pairs open lace with DK weight yarn for an enveloping triangular shawl that is perfect for wearing with a dress on a chilly spring or summer evening, or for wrapping around the neck to protect against a colder winter day.
The body lace pattern evokes the ribs of the glasshouses, while the English Oak Leaf edging pays homage to the 112 species of oak trees at Kew. The triangular shawl body is worked first, with a 3 stitch garter border on each edge, then the garter stitch edging is worked sideways and attached to the live body stitches for a seamless finished piece.
