Note - the large sock is knitted at a different gauge to the small. Use the correct needles to obtain gauge.
My late Granny was a prolific knitter and I adored seeing her in the cardigans she had lovingly made. My favourite, which I still have, is a traditional aran knit, featuring lots of different cables and textured stitches.
These socks are inspired her cardigan and named after her. They’re not a complex as they look, as the 16 round chart breaks down into stitch sections which are repeated several times down the sock.
Knit the first sock in reverse, or knit to match the first, making it easier to memorise the pattern.
Knitting to the correct gauge will give two different width options (9’’ and 10’’ circumference measured at the ball of the foot) and the socks can be knitted to the desired length.
