This pattern is inspired by Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, particularly the final speech Puck delivers to the audience, asking them for their applause. I love this speech, but it made no sense to design a sock with “hands” in the title, so this pattern is intended to keep your fingers nice and toasty.

The pattern includes instructions for both a pair of fully-fingered gloves and a pair of fingerless mitts. They can be worn layered or singly, and if layered, they can be buttoned together at the wrist.

Additional Materials Needed: stitch markers, stitch holders, tapestry needle, & 8 3/8ths inch shank buttons.

Yarn distribution:
For the gloves: approx. 380-400 yds of fingering weight yarn
For the warmers: approx. 200-220 yds of fingering or sport weight yarn
