Gifford
Gifford is named after the state park that I lived next to growing up. It was a place that instilled a love of the outdoors in me. This cardigan - textured and featuring dense panels of cables - is perfect for any outdoor adventure. Lustrous, yet still hardy, the undyed Leicester Longwool yarn used to create this sweater is a divine match for the design.

CONSTRUCTION NOTES
This raglan-sleeve cardigan is knit flat in pieces from the bottom up and is seamed. Seaming provides structure and longevity to knitted garments. The fronts are worked with a neck extension that continues around the sleeve and back neck edging. There are two options for finishing – an open cardigan or a buttoned cardigan. In the open version, stitches for the button band are simply not picked up, and the cable serves as an edging. In the closed cardigan, the edging is ribbed. The button band is picked up along the front opening. Each piece features cabled panels and textured stitch patterns. Stitch patterns are both written and charted. In addition, charts are included that show the distribution of each individual chart across each piece.
