Giaguaro (jaguar in italian) is a stylish muff worked in a leopard-skin stranded colorwork.
Giaguaro is worked in the round from one end to the other, starting with a provisional cast on, then worked in plain stockinette to provide a inner lining.
A “secret” pocket is optionally worked inside the piece, providing this accessory the ability to carry your “beauty secrets” or a small wallet.
This makes Giaguaro a beautiful knit that is also twicely useful, being a small bag that can also warm your hands!
Finally, a strap made by three i-cords braided together makes this muff easy to wear.
Attention there is a separate file/appendix containing all the techniques used in the pattern. Be sure to download also the Technique.pdf file!
Size: 46 cm (18 inches) circ, 29 cm (11.5 inches) height.
Size is easily customizable, either using different yarn weight and needle size or working more repeats.
Gauge:
22 stitches x 28 rows = 10x10 cm (4”) in stranded colorwork.
*Gauge is not critical for this project
Difficulty: Intermediate. The stranded colorwork requires attention, but it is worked in the round, so that RS is always facing the knitter. The construction is easy (a simple tube), but the inserted i-cord and the inner pocket can be not very intuitive to work.
