This classic cardigan is designed to keep your little one warm, cosy and comfortable – but it’s also designed with you, the knitter, in mind! The gentle rhythm of garter stitch makes for a wonderfully soothing and relaxing knit, perfect for winding down with.

I’ve added ribbed edges to the Ghyllas Cardigan because I love the way rib and garter stitches work together, adding just the right amount of structure and texture. But if you’d prefer an all-garter-stitch knit, you might like to try the Leighton Jacket or the Higgins Cardigan – both are just as comforting to knit and wear!

Whichever you choose, I hope you enjoy every stitch!

CONSTRUCTION
The back, left and right fronts, two sleeves are knitted flat from the bottom up in separate pieces and joined together. The sleeves are drop. The neck and buttonbands edge are picked up.

TECHNIQUES USED
Cast on, knit, purl, decreasing at neck shaping, increasing on the sleeves, cast off. Joining seams. Sewing on buttons. Optional but recommended to create the feeling of joy when joining your pieces: mattress stitch and three needle cast off.
