Gertie is a super summery, drop-shoulder cardigan made almost entirely from the classic granny stripe stitch. This stitch is so calming and meditative and the pattern calls for the gorgeous Debbie Bliss Piper yarn, perfect for relaxing in your garden this summer! It’s a really easy pattern, made from simple shapes that are seamed at the end to form the cardigan - suitable for both beginners or more experienced makers who want a relaxing summer project!

The garment is worked in horizontal rows, so it’s really easy to add or remove length to make this garment as short or as long as you’d like - both in the body and arms. Feel free to customise to suit your body and style, but remember any adjustments will affect the meterage requirements.

Bust sizes given as XS (S, M, L, XL, 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X): 100 (110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, 165, 170) cm requiring 224 (244, 262, 297, 316, 330, 383, 401, 427) metres of Yarn A (DK) AND 835 (911, 978, 1108, 1180, 1234, 1432, 1497, 1595) metres total of Yarn B-G: (DK)

This pattern is available in both UK & US terminology so you don’t have to translate stitches!
