GEO COWL - baby child adult sizes

FINISHED SIZES:
Size 1/baby/child: 20 inches (50.8cm) circumference x 7 inches (17.78cm) height
Size 2/adult: 26 inches (66cm) x circumference x 9 inches (22.86cm) height
MATERIALS
Size 1: Medium weight yarn (number 4 = worsted / 10 ply) - 2 oz (57g) / 132 yards (120 meters)
(for the picture shown above, I’ve used Lion Brand Wool-Ease in Mustard Color)
Size 2: 3oz (85g) /197 yards (180 meters)
Circular knitting needle - Sizes 7 (4.5mm), 8 (5.00 mm) and 9 (5.5 mm) US needles
Tapestry needle, scissors
Cable needle
GAUGE: In pattern - 18 stitches by 20 rows = 4 x 4 inches
KNITTING METHOD: Cowl is worked flat bottom up, sew the sides together at the end.

STITCHES / TECHNIQUES USED & ABBREVIATIONS:
St(s): stitch(es)
CN: cable needle
CO: cast on
BO: bind off
Sl: slip
k: knit
p: purl
RS: right side
WS: wrong side
( ) - repeat pattern within the parenthesis as
many times as indicated after ( )
HOLD to back - means hold behind your project
HOLD to front - means hold in front of your project
TRICK/TIP - by slipping 1st stitch of each row, and purling the last stitch, you’ll get a very nice edge stitch;
Pattern (size 1/baby, child): 3 repeats of pattern sts (28) plus 10 sts =94
Pattern (size 2/adult): 4 repeats of pattern sts (28) plus 10 sts =122
For smaller than size pattern, simply choose a yarn and needles one size less/ for larger adult size, use bulkier yarn and go up a size in needles.
