Genevieve Shawl
Discontinued.
This digital pattern is no longer available online.
Like its sister, it’s a relatively easy lace knitting design but this time it has a more challenging lace diamond centre from which the feathered borders are picked up and knitted.
The rhythmic repetition of the border pattern stitch is particularly relaxing and lovely to enjoy as the developing sequence of colours relate to each other. Again, there is a picot cast off, but with this shawl, the borders’ feathers are dressed into sharp points.
Altogether, this makes a really pretty light shawl that’s an interesting knitting project. Directions are given for knitting with circular needles (“in the round”) and straight needles (“flat knitting”).
